Shift Manager - New McDonald's Opening!

Linwell & Grantham | St. Catharines, Ontario

Starting wage: $19.70 per hour

Help build a new team. Lead a great shift.

We’re opening a new McDonald’s restaurant at Linwell and Grantham (486 Grantham Ave. St. Catherines, Ontario), and we’re looking for enthusiastic Shift Managers who enjoy coaching people, leading by example and creating a great guest experience.

Join us from the beginning and help shape how our team works together. From supporting crew training before opening to leading a busy shift, you’ll play an important role in building a restaurant our team and community can be proud of.

Your role

Working alongside the General Manager and department leaders, you will:

  • Lead your shift: Organize crew positions, coordinate breaks and keep service running smoothly.
  • Coach and encourage your team: Help crew members build their skills, recognize great work and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Help prepare for opening: Participate in paid training and support new crew members as they learn their stations and routines.
  • Deliver a welcoming guest experience: Support friendly, accurate and timely service, and resolve guest concerns with care.
  • Maintain high standards: Follow food safety, cleanliness, cash-handling and workplace safety procedures.
  • Stay calm under pressure: Adjust priorities, solve problems and keep your team focused during busy periods.
  • Build a positive workplace: Treat people with respect and help every team member feel welcome and supported.

What you bring

You have experience leading a team in a restaurant, retail or another fast-paced customer-service environment—or you’re an experienced crew trainer or team leader ready to take the next step.

McDonald’s experience is an asset. We’re especially interested in people who bring:

  • Energy and enthusiasm for helping open a new restaurant.
  • A hands-on approach and the confidence to lead by example.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliability, accountability and pride in doing things well.
  • A genuine interest in developing people and serving guests.
  • Availability for paid training at established local restaurants before opening.

We are building coverage across different dayparts. Tell us whether you’re available for days, evenings, weekends or overnight shifts.

What you can look forward to

  • A starting wage of $19.70 per hour.
  • Paid training and support as you develop in your role.
  • Access to education and skills development opportunities.
  • Opportunities to grow your restaurant leadership experience.
  • The chance to help build a new team and establish great habits from day one.
  • A safe, respectful and inclusive workplace where you can bring your authentic self to work.

Ready to join our opening team?

Apply through Indeed with your résumé or a summary of your experience. Tell us about a time you helped a team succeed and what excites you about joining a new restaurant.

This posting is for Shift Manager vacancies with an independently owned and operated McDonald’s franchise.

  • We welcome applicants of every background and are committed to fair, equitable and accessible employment opportunities. Accommodations during the application process are available upon request.

Your vibe and experience

While previous experience working in food service or retail as a barista, server, sales associate, cashier, team member, or customer sales representative as a manager is always helpful and appreciated, what is most important is who you are.

You lead by example and are accountable. You have high expectations and consistently raise the bar for yourself and your team. When confronted with a situation, you can assess and problem-solve with confidence. You put people before profit, knowing that creating a positive culture leads to happier, more engaged staff who will deliver a better experience for your guests.
