Position Summary

The Overnight Maintenance Person ensures the facility is clean, safe, and fully reset for the next business day. This role includes routine cleaning, basic repairs, equipment upkeep, and specialized kitchen maintenance such as cleaning grills and fryers. The position requires someone who can work independently, handle physically demanding tasks, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.


Key Responsibilities

·       Perform nightly cleaning of floors, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas

·       Deep-clean kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers, hoods, and surrounding surfaces

·       Safely drain, filter, and dispose of fryer oil according to company procedures

·       Complete scheduled maintenance tasks such as garbage removal, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing

·       Conduct basic repairs (light bulbs, minor plumbing fixes, tightening fixtures, equipment checks)

·       Lift, move, and transport heavy items (up to 50–75 lbs) such as equipment, boxes, and cleaning supplies

·       Operate cleaning equipment including vacuums, and basic hand tools

·       Monitor building security by ensuring doors, windows, and equipment are properly locked

·       Inspect the facility for safety hazards and report issues to management

·       Restock supplies and maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance materials

·       Respond to unexpected maintenance needs during the shift


Qualifications

·       Previous maintenance, janitorial, custodial, or kitchen cleaning experience preferred

·       Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks

·       Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and hot equipment

·       Comfortable working independently overnight

·       Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented


Schedule

Overnight shifts typically run between 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, depending on business needs

Position follows a rotating schedule:

o  5 days on, 2 days off

o  4 days on, 2 days off

Flexibility may be required during peak business periods or special maintenance needs


Wage

This position starts at $2 premium above minimum wage.
