Job Description

The candidate for this position will be responsible for six locations on Prince Edward Island.

As the Operations Manager, it is your responsibility for growing patch/market sales and guest counts profitably, and for overseeing and ensuring all restaurants in your market meet McDonald’s critical guest standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.

The Operations Manager provides leadership, coaching, and direction to their leadership team to maximize the long-term sales and profit potential of each restaurant. This role has the opportunity to truly impact the business through building positive business relationships Consultants/Supervisors, Market People Leads and General Managers.

The Operations Manager works with their Owner/Operator to set their market targets and direction with a growth mindset and creates a plan to achieve the targets. The Operations Manager doesn’t work alone to meet market targets, they lead a team of Supervisors and General Managers responsible for their restaurants. This means supporting them in setting their individual, patch and restaurant targets, following up on their progress, and providing coaching and direction to improve their restaurants results. By improving the Supervisors and GM's, the market improves.

The Operations Manager is responsible for energizing their team and encouraging their Team to do the same. This includes overseeing the hiring and development of each manager to ensure the restaurants have the right team to lead them into the future.

A post-secondary education in the Business Management field and previous experience food service experience is an asset and 5-7+ years of McDonalds restaurant (or other QSR) operations experience demonstrating an expert knowledge of operations procedures and key restaurant performance metrics.

As the Operations Manager, communication is key to success. Weekly, you will have a touchpoint with each Supervisor and GM's to review each Patch and Restaurant’s strengths and opportunities. It is important that all key restaurant information discussed is shared with your Restaurant teams during a weekly (or bi-weekly Team Meeting).

? Ability to communicate effectively to multiple people, in varying age groups and ability levels, both in verbal and written communication methods

? Refined consultative approach that engages stakeholders in a collaborative manner. Very strong customer focus with keen attention to detail and ability to translate requirements into action. Ability to present, influence and communicate information based on target audience.

? Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to frame projects, create solutions and drive cross-functional efforts to successful completion on budget and schedule.

? Ability to work in high-pressure environments, while still maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

? Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of cross-functional team

? Dedicated self-starter who takes initiative on appropriate tasks

? Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adjust quickly to change and ambiguity

? Strong attention to detail and timelines

? Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information


The working environment will consist of both office and restaurant settings. Hours of work could include evenings and weekends. Travel will be within the market area and occasional travel outside the market area may be required to attend meetings, workshops or classes, etc.


Compensation based on level of experience. Other benefits include bonus program, car allowance, health insurance, RRSP contribution, and moving expenses if needed.
