As Consultant, Communications, you will play a critical role in shaping how McDonald’s Canada connects, informs and inspires our employees and franchisees – ensuring a unified, trusted and consistent voice across our System.

 

You will be responsible for developing and executing integrated enterprise communications and engagement plans that drive alignment, reinforce our values, and support business priorities. Working closely with leaders and cross-functional partners, you’ll translate strategy into clear, compelling communications that resonate across diverse audiences and channels.

 

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role that blends strategic thinking with creative execution. You’ll work across a dynamic mix of high‑impact, business‑focused communications and fun, culture‑driven brand moments that energize and unite our System. Whether you’re planning a national town hall, drafting a key enterprise announcement, or activating a brand moment internally, you’ll help bring our purpose and strategy to life – strengthening trust, pride, and connection across the McDonald’s Canada system.

Duties

  • Develop and execute enterprise communication strategies that align and engage employees and franchisees around key business initiatives and priorities, translating complex business concepts into clear narratives.
  • Define and drive the content strategy for our employee engagement platform, establishing channel standards and an editorial rhythm, and partnering with internal stakeholders to optimize content and engagement.
  • Create compelling written and visual content across a variety of internal channels, including newsletters, intranet, town halls, digital signage, presentations, and toolkits.
  • Lead the planning and execution of employee events, like Town Halls, and internal brand activations.
  • Identify and tell meaningful stories that bring the McDonald’s Canada strategy, purpose, and values to life across the system.
  • Continuously evolve how we communicate by imagining and delivering modern, effective ways to inform and engage stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic counsel and executional excellence on initiatives that build brand trust, employee pride, and franchisee confidence.
  • Work collaboratively across the McDonald’s Canada system, including agency partners, corporate teams, and franchisees, to ensure alignment and impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years’ experience in communications; PR agency, QSR or internal communications experience preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong business acumen
  • Proven ability to craft relevant, timely, and engaging narratives across formats, channels, and audiences
  • Experience planning and executing corporate and/or consumer events
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience, with the ability to translate business objectives into communication strategies
  • Ability to influence, advise, and collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional partners
  • Comfort working with digital communication platforms and tools (e.g., intranet, newsletters, editorial calendars, Canva)
  • Journalistic instincts with a strong eye for uncovering, shaping, and telling stories
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A collaborative, positive team player who can work independently while contributing to an integrated team environment
  • Bilingual (French and English) is an asset but not required

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $76,799 - $102,398 per year
